In September, Todd M. Smith, PhD. (Digital World Biology's Head of Business Development) became an Editorial Board Member of OMICS: A Journal of Integrative Biology . Dr. Sandra Porter will attend the NGSS (Next Generation Science Standards) Conference/ Gene Connection 25th Year Celebration and Conference, where she will learn how schools in California are working with NGSS. The conference, hosted by BABEC (Bay Area Biotechnology Education Consortium) will be at Skyline College, 3300 College Dr. San Bruno, CA from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm.Read more

Dr. Todd Smith will attend the 2014 Sequencing, Finishing and Analysis in the Future meeting this week to discuss the use of genomics and proteomics data in education. This annual meeting is attended by experts in the genomics community who gather to discuss computational tools and technologies for nucleic acid sequencing.

Smith will present a poster and discuss how Digital World Biology is working to help students make use of the vast data resources created through publicly-funded research in genomics and proteomics as described further below.Read more

As the former head and CSO for Geospiza, a PerkinElmer company, Dr. Smith is continuing a long-standing Digital World Biology tradition of assisting educators by providing an industry perspective.Read more
