Amylose–a polymer of D-glucose and a component of starch

PDB

Maltohexaose is an intermediate in the production of maltose from starch by alpha amylase.

Binary Data maltohexaose.pdb.gz
PubChem

A disaccharide with two glucose subunits and the same kind of bond found in cellulose.

PDB

Normal alpha amylase, aligned to a heat tolerant version of the same protein.

Binary Data align_1BL1.pdb.gz
PDB

Heat tolerant alpha amylase, aligned to a normal version of the same protein.

Binary Data 1E3Z_aligned.pdb.gz
MMDB

A heat tolerant form of alpha amylase, engineered from Bacillus lichenformis and Bacillus amyloliquifaciens.

Binary Data 1E3Z.cn3
MMDB

A wild-type form of alpha amylase from Bacillus licheniformis.

Binary Data 1BL1.cn3
MMDB

Alpha amylase with maltose from Bacillus sp.707.  Maltose is produced when alpha amylase digests starch. Select the first five glucose monomers (GLC) to highlight maltose.

Binary Data 2D3L.cn3
MMDB

A beta amylase from Bacillus cereus.  This enzyme works best at pH 6.5.

Binary Data 1VEM.cn3
MMDB

A beta amylase from Bacillus cereus engineered to work at a lower pH (4.6).  The tyrosine at position 164 has been changed to glutamic acid (Y164e)

Binary Data 1VEN.cn3
MMDB

A beta amylase from Bacillus cereus engineered to work at a lower pH (4.6).  The tyrosine at position 164 has been changed to phenylalanine (Y164f)

Binary Data 1VEO.cn3
MMDB

RNA polymerase from E. coli, in a transcription initiation complex.

Binary Data 4YLP.cn3
MMDB

EcoRI, a restriction enzyme.

Binary Data 1ER1.cn3
MMDB

HindIII, a restriction enzyme.

Binary Data 3A4K.cn3
PubChem

IPTG, used for inducing genes controlled by the lac promoter.

Binary Data IPTG.sdf.gz
MMDB

A short chain of double-stranded DNA.  Hydrogens are not shown because this structure was obtained through X-ray diffraction.

Binary Data 2BNA.cn3
MMDB

A short chain of double-stranded DNA showing hydrogens. Hydrogens are present because this structure was solved by NMR.
